The Middle East Film Festival (MEFF) returns in 2021 with a culturally-diverse virtual programme from 19 February to 3 March at Shaw KinoLounge.
Organised by the Middle East Institute at the National University of Singapore, and curated by the Singapore Film Society, MEFF 2021 celebrates the best of cinema from the region and beyond with six indelible films from Afghanistan, Algeria, Israel, Morocco, Tunisia & Turkey, all of which will be screening online in Singapore for the first time.
Pick any 3 films at $17.99 or watch all 6 films at only $29.99!
A recommended bundle could center on the theme of ‘Families’ with A SON (Tunisia), THE DAY AFTER I’M GONE (Israel) and A TALE OF THREE SISTERS (Turkey) – three films that revolve around family crises at a personal level, portrayed with nuance and emotion.
Another recommended bundle could be ‘Outsiders’ with PAPICHA (Algeria), THE ORPHANAGE (Afghanistan) and THE UNKNOWN SAINT (Morocco) – three films centering on protagonists who have to navigate a changing environment, including shifting political and cultural contexts.
Enjoy the festival!
